African Study Monographsはアフリカ各国をはじめ、世界のアフリカ研究者が投稿する、京都大学アフリカ地域研究資料センター発行の国際ジャーナルです。年4回の定期号と、特別号（Supplementary Issues）を発行しています。9月に発行された特別号では大山が編者となり、ニジェールの農業実践、開発そしてソシアルダイナミクスを特集しました。ニジェール研究者5名および学生1名が、寄稿しています。
