Distribution of fruit tree seedlings (mango, avocado, papaya) to local residents

Although the traffic of Japanese researchers has been stopped due to the spreading COVID-19, we have been growing seedlings of mango, avocado, papaya and lemon since March 2021. In July 2021, when the rains began in earnest, we distributed the seedlings to the local residents. There are no fruit trees in the area, and the residents are planting them in their houses, vegetable gardens, and cropfields.

Kyoto University Niger Field Station continues to work closely with local residents to support their livelihood and daily lives.
